3 Day Kakadu

Get picked up from Darwin bright and early (6:30-7:00 AM) as you meet your guide and vehicle for the trip. Begin the trip with a morning dive (figurative) into one the NT's top croc and wildlife hotspots at Corrobboree Billabong on the Mary River as you take a cruise with a local guide and wildlife expert. After a picnic lunch on the East Alligator take a look at Cahills Crossing before you embark on a short but rewarding 2km walk to look out upon the Arnhem Land Floodplains and pass through the extensive and ancient rock art sights of Ubir.

The morning begins with a drive into Jim Jim Falls along one of Kakadu's bumpy 4WD tracks to one of the most iconic and photographed features in the park. Here you will scramble over some boulders taking a walk into the cool pools of Jim Jim for a refreshing morning dip.

The cultural adventure continues as we head to the shaded escarpment walls and caves of Burrungkuy (Nourlangie Rock). With a large number of rock-art walls, your guide will share knowledge and stories of the area. We then trek up to the Gunwhardewharde Lookout, with views from the escarpment across Arnhem Land’s floodplains, Anbangbang Billabong and Burrungkuy. Our last stop is at the Warradjan Cultural Centre to learn about the living culture of the Binnij and Muyguyy peoples, before returning to our exclusive camp.

A big day ahead of us with our first stop at Maguk (Barramundi Gorge). After a 40-minute walk along a creek bed, you’ll be rewarded with a swim in a stunning plunge pool surrounded by steep rocky cliffs. We then let our 4WD truck do all the work as we drive to the Southern end of the park to Gunlom Falls – a large emerald-coloured waterhole hidden by the surrounding eucalypt and melaleuca trees. We set our sights for Darwin with a quick stop at Pine Creek before retuning to the Territory’s capital of Darwin. Estimate time of arrival is 5.30pm
